My wife and I are on a two week working holiday in Coffs Harbour and we are trying to see some of Coffs while we are here. Yesterday we walked from our
accommodation to the Jetty Markets and were a little disappointed. Walking back to our resort, we passed the dolphins conservation park. My wife said
"Would you like to go and have a look?" I didn't immediately know what the facility was. I was prepared to pay the entry even if we just saw a couple
of story boards about the conservation works. OMG what a surprise. We saw penguins, turtles, stingrays, sharks, sea lions, but wait - the DOLPHINS.
All interaction is at their choice. You are allowed to stand near their pool, with hands gently flat on the water. If they want to come, they will.
They are like puppies. They love their trainers SO much. They get visibly excited when another trainer arrives at the pool. When the trainer was doing
a demonstration of how they get the seals to let them do an ultrasound, the dolphins were "going off" like mischievous puppies trying to get her attention.
The "tricks" they all do are naturally done in the wild or needed for the conservation center to care for them. If they decide to come near you, you
can pat them and the whole experience is amazing. My wife threw a ball back and forward with Jett for about three minutes- I took video of it and no
one can believe it. You HAVE to visit. We are going to go every time we visit Coffs Harbour and I'm seriously contemplating giving up my career in
IT and studying marine biology. The best thing I've done ever.
WOW Rob, this is such a lovely testimonial for all of us here at DMCP, thank you so much for your amazing feedback & you are welcome back to see us
& Jet anytime!
